18’ x 41’ x 15’ Fully Enclosed RV Cover

Let’s talk about RV covers. There are three basic kinds of covers that you can choose from. The first method is just a simple roof. This method is one of the most economical, though you’ll have to consider that you’re only protecting your RV from the sunlight, rain, and other natural elements. The second method is to have partial sides. The most common option is 3 feet of enclosure on the sides, but it’s also possible to have full sides. The last method is a full enclosure with a convenient roll-up door to get your RV in and out with no problem.

This option is appealing because it offers the most protection, but it can be tricky because getting the dimensions correct is crucial. The first thing we would recommend is to measure your RV. If you’re fully enclosing it, you also have to make sure that you have enough space on the sides in order for you to be able to get in and out without hitting the door on the building, so be sure to add additional clearances. The height of your RV is extremely important! If you’ll have a roll-up door on your enclosure, you have to make sure that there is enough room above your RV for the door when it’s open. Also, keep in mind that the leg height of the enclosure needs to be 1’ taller than door height.

Here is an example of an 18’W x 41’L x 15’H Enclosed RV Cover:

  • 12-Gauge Galvanized Tubing
  • A-Frame Vertical Roof
  • Horizontal Sides & Ends
  • 12′ x 14′ Roll-Up Door
  • 36″ x 80″ Walk-In Door (on the side)

Maybe the size of this cover will be enough for your RV. Keep in mind that we can make adjustments according to your needs and preferences. Whether you need your RV enclosure to be longer, shorter, wider or taller, our experts will be here to assist you with anything that you need.

It’s Never Too Late to Get the Protection You Need

The year is practically over – just one more month, and we’ll be transitioning into 2019. How crazy does that sound? Overall, we felt like this year went by really fast. And because it’s almost the end of the year, there might be some cut-off dates, depending on where you live. But don’t worry, this can also mean more time for you to get your site ready for installation.

Although most of the units we install go on concrete, that doesn’t mean that your unit cannot go on the regular ground. But we also want to be clear that all units overpassing 30’ in width (wide spans) must go on a concrete slab.

Please review our cut-off dates by clicking here.

If you have to wait until spring, this gives you plenty of time to get started on your plans for your future metal building. This could also mean that you can save even more money and get everything prepared by the time we come to install your unit. If you think about it, once you have your metal unit installed, you won’t have to worry about it anymore. Let us tease you by showing an agricultural building (an ag barn) that’s 48’W x 31’L x 12/7’H:

  • 24’W x 31’L x 12’H (Main Unit)
  • A-Frame Vertical Roof
  • 14-Guage Galvanized Tubing
  • 2 – Extended Gables
  • 2 – 12’W x 31’L x 9’/7’H Lean-Tos
  • Vertical Roof
  • 10’x7′ Frame Out (Opening)

RV Carport Benefits

Summer has come to an end, and now we have put away our tubes, camping gear, and fishing equipment until next season. There’s just one thing left to cover: the most expensive toy you own, your RV. We at American Steel can provide the most affordable and durable solution for you, and I figured I would tell you a few of the benefits to using an American Steel RV cover.

1. Efficiency. American Steel carports and garages are engineered, certified structures that are delivered and installed on your building site. Steel buildings require about 2/3 the time of conventional construction.

2. Affordability. Because we own our manufacturing facilities, we can offer you fantastic value for your money. The construction costs for a steel building vs. conventional construction can be reduced by 60%.

3. The ability to go up to 18 feet high. Steel is lightweight but also one of the one of the strongest building materials available, with a very high strength-to-weight ratio. Steel garages are even lighter than wood!

4. Ease of maintenance. Steel buildings are a great option for any geographic area, with the ability to resist rain, snow, and high winds. Want to clean your building? Just spray it with soap, then with water from the hose or pressure washer.

5. Reduced fire danger. Because steel is non-combustible, your insurance costs can drop as much as 40% if your belongings are in a steel garage instead of a highly flammable wood structure.

6. Stronger than a hurricane. Steel buildings can withstand high winds and heavy snow and stay upright through earthquakes. Some of the world’s tallest buildings are made of steel because of its ability to meet strict wind and seismic requirements. The difference between steel and concrete is that concrete can shift and crack. Scientists also say that concrete can crumble under very strong wind. Steel, however, will bend slightly and move with the storm. Metal buildings are the only structures that usually survive intact through hurricanes.

24′ x 41′ x 15′ Metal Workshop

Do you know that the tallest you can go in any of our metal buildings is 20’? There are certain restrictions that can apply when getting a building over 12’ in height, however, such as that the leg height cannot overpass the width of the building (for stability). Many of our customers often assume that we cannot go taller than 12’ due to the standard dimensions on our flyers. But don’t let the numbers fool you—we can certainly go tall. We do want to let our customers know that once a building overpasses 12’ in height, extra labor/equipment will be required.

Aside from that important information, take a look at his 24’W x 41’L x 15’H metal workshop:

  • A-Frame Vertical Roof
  • Horizontal Sides & Ends
  • 12′ x 13.5′ Roll-Up Door (front end)
  • 8′ x 8′ Roll-Up Door (front end)
  • 36″ x 80″ Walk-In Door (left side)
  • 4 – 3′ x 8′ Skylights

Outstanding, isn’t it? Now, you might be thinking, what am I going to store in something this tall? Well, metal buildings of this height can be used for many purposes. For example, if you’re looking to protect your RV, but you don’t want the typical cover, this enclosed building can definitely provide the shade and protection you need. You can also use this building as your workshop to work on your big toys; these are just a few options to give you an idea of the endless ways that you can use this metal building.

You can always customize the size, color, and features of any of our metal buildings displayed in our blogs and social media. All you need to do is give us a call and let one of our experts help you find and price the right metal building for your specific needs! Don’t forget that we now offer Rent-To-Own in all of our service areas. Give us a call at (866) 471-8761 for more information.

12’ x 16’ x 7’ Mini Storage

Have you ever thought about how much stuff we actually have in our homes? They say that you don’t really know how much stuff you have until it’s time to move out. If you think about it, there are belongings that we can’t just simply get rid of but that still take up space, like paperwork that might not be useful at that moment, but will be crucial at some point. What about our garden tools? There’s so much that can be stored.

However, what if you don’t have enough space for a metal building on your property? That’s when things get tricky—but you don’t have to worry: that’s why there are mini-storages.

Mini-storages are the best addition to your property when space is limited and all you need is to keep your belongings safe and protected. American Carports offers mini-storages for your special needs with many different sizes and options.

Take a look at this 12’W x 16’L x 7’H mini-storage, for example:

  • A-Frame Vertical Roof
  • Horizontal Sides & Ends
  • 6’x6′ Roll-Up Door
  • Wood Floor

The Four Types of Doors We Offer

American Carports, Inc. has come a long way since the beginning; we now know that details are very important. From color options to reinforcement and ventilation features, we strive to always satisfy your needs. Thanks to this, you now have the opportunity to decide what kind of door you want. Not only does this give your unit more flexibility, but it will also enhance the overall look of your carport.

Since our customers have a multitude of door options to choose from, you will need to give us more information, from the color to the type and size. If you find yourself with a handful of questions, continue reading ‒ and remember that we’re here to help.

The four types of doors we offer are:

  • Walk-In
  • Heavy Duty Walk-In
  • Overhead
  • Roll-Up

Standard
Walk-In & Heavy-Duty Walk-In

Convenient and lightweight, these economical 20-gauge doors are essential for those who are looking for an “easy come, easy go” option. Choose from a 36” x 72”, 36” x 80”, or double 72” x 72” door. Though these doors are basic, they deliver more than you bargained for, especially if you upgrade to our heavy duty walk-in. There is no threshold located at the bottom of these doors, making it easy for those who use wheelchairs to enter and exit the building. We offer two sizes: 36” wide by 84” tall and 48” wide by 84” tall. Apart from the different frames, they are reversible and insulated. If extra security and additional strength are what you’re looking for, consider investing in our Heavy Duty Walk-In door.

Remember:

  • There is a $75 fee for installing doors on vertical sides.
  • There is no extra cost for doors installed on horizontal sides.
  • Heavy Duty Walk-In doors must be installed on concrete foundations.

Overhead

Our Overhead doors, also known as Sectional doors, are ideal for those who want to add a residential look to their building. Choose from our standard option, which doesn’t come insulated or with windows, or upgrade to glass windows and insulation. We also offer embossed panel designs: colonial and ranch. Select from white, almond, taupe, and brown color options. Our Overhead doors are larger than our mobile doors but are easy to open. What makes them different from a Roll-Up door? A Roll-Up door uses a chain to roll up, whereas an Overhead wraps up in sections, like a garage door.

Roll-Up

Not looking to spend much on a large door? Although they serve the same purpose as Overhead doors, these are great for those who want something economical and simple.

We offer 3 types of Roll-Ups:

  • Model 650 Mini
  • Model 2000 Commercial
  • Model 2500 Commercial

Keep in mind that our 6’ x 7’ to 10’ x 10’ sizes are considered mini. Anything above 10’ x 10’ comes with a chain hoist. There is also no outside latch on Roll-Up doors, meaning a Walk-In door is required to open the Roll-Up from the inside.

On top of this information, do you know that you can change the color of your roll-up doors for an additional price? Click here to look at all of the colors we have available to give your building that special touch.

Now that you know about the four different types of doors we offer, you can see that there are many different ways for you to customize your metal building. Remember, we’re here to meet your needs and specifications. Give us a call now for a quick quote and let one of our experts help you build that metal building of your dreams!

Live in the North? You’d better watch out for the Snow!

Vertical siding buildings are the most recommended when it comes to states that get a considerable amount of snow. The vertical roof allows natural elements like snow, water, dirt, leaves, and dust to slide off easily without the need for constant maintenance, unlike other roof styles. And if the vertical roof can give you all that, imagine having vertical sides! It would definitely make your metal garage maintenance-free!

Another cool feature that we offer is our overhead doors. These doors create more of a residential look, and they can actually be connected to a garage opener. Please be aware that American Carports does not offer that type of service: we would only provide the installation of your metal building and the overhead door.

This 18’W x 26’L x 10’H metal garage is a perfect example of a fully vertical (a.k.a., maintenance-free) building:

  • 16’x7′ Overhead door
  • 4 – 30″x30″ Windows (2 on the back end, 2 on the side)
  • 36″x80″ Walk-In Door (on the side)

There are many ways to customize your metal garage! Before making a purchase, though, it’s recommended that all of our customers talk with their local building departments to get the necessary permits. Remember that not all states and counties are the same: some might require additional plans or calculations, while others would take the generic plans. Also, know that our generic plans come free when you place your order with us.

Give us a call and let one of our experts help you build that garage of your dreams! Does your area have a higher snow load? Let our experts know, and we’ll work with your requirements until we meet them. Want to see our buildings in person? Call us and ask for your local dealer! And don’t forget to ask about our financing options.

Cut off Times

We are entering that time of the year again when the weather starts dropping, the snow starts coming and we make our cut off dates.

What are cut off dates?

They are the time frame where we will be halting delivery on units in certain regions.

Why cut off dates?

Because although we would love to take care of customers 365 days a year, it’s highly unlikely due to the weather variables that are far beyond our control.

When do we start delivering again?

We will start up in full steam in the spring delivering and installing new units.

What states have been cut off for 2018?

October 31 – Oregon, Nevada, Upper Northeast California.

We can’t wait to get started installing your buildings in the spring. Take care, everyone!
