Site of Installation:

Site readiness is an essential part of installation. Per company policy, we require that the site of installation for any carport or metal building be completely level or have a slope of no greater that 3”. Our group of installers can refuse to install on unlevel ground if an issue arises.

Utility/Power Lines:

American Steel Carports also recommends that utility lines be marked to ensure that we do not damage your property. We are not liable for damage on unmarked utility lines. Also, to ensure the safety of our installers, we do not install buildings within 10’ of active power lines.

Concrete Slab:

Concrete is a customer’s responsibility and must be level and a minimum of 4” thick, with a 12” x 12” footer and a minimum of 3” or more all the way around so that we can avoid chipping the edge of the slab. (Specs could change based on building size and local codes.) Please contact us if you choose to go with a flush slab. Concrete must cure for a minimum of 2 weeks prior to installation. You can purchase plans for concrete after the order is placed. A full concrete slab is not necessary for all buildings. Please contact us for more options.

Gravel:

When pouring gravel, make sure it is level and compact, and don’t forget to add an extra amount of gravel around the perimeter of the unit to avoid erosion.

Space for Installation:

We also require a minimum of 2’ of room around the area of installation. If you feel that a fence, tree, home, bush, etc. could interfere with the installation, we recommend letting your sales person know before placing the order so that the order isn’t rejected later in the scheduling process or on the day of installation.

Installing Over Objects:

If you need our crews to install over any object, we MUST have a picture on file with the dimensions. Some objects may require an extra labor fee. Please let your sales person know when placing your order or make sure to let your secretary know so that she can verify if a labor fee will be needed.

Site Modifications:

If you need to make site modifications, make sure you call 811 before you dig or visit http://call811.com/before-you-dig for information on your power/utility lines. Contacting 811 can help you avoid injury and the added expense of something going wrong.

New Tariff on Steel

It looks like the price of steel will be going up more and more here in the United States within the next few months. As such, we highly suggest that you purchase your metal carport or building prior to the tariff on steel imports goes into effect. Due to this nationwide increase in the cost of steel, we and many other carport companies will be increasing the prices of most of our buildings.

On March 8th, 2018, in hopes of reviving our domestic steel industry by opening closed mills and reducing the need to rely on foreign producers of steel products, President Trump signed Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act to impose a 25% tariff on steel imports from all countries except Mexico and Canada. According to the president, this new tariff will also provide a form of national security.

Although our company makes it a mission to purchase all American-made materials, we will still feel the strain of steel prices increasing. American Steel Carports, Inc. and American Carports, Inc. will work hard to keep our prices as low as possible while still providing the best in steel carports and buildings nationwide. We still suggest placing your orders within the next few months to ensure that you receive the lowest price possible. Remember that we have an excellent sales team who will work with you to design the perfect metal building for your needs. Give us a call and ask to speak with one of our representatives, and don’t forget that we offer financing.

Storage Building in AZ

Are you looking for simple storage room, but still want quality?

We offer great quality on even the simplest buildings when it comes to all four seasons. We’re so sure about the strength of our metal buildings that we offer a one-year workmanship warranty on each one. We want to give you quality for what you pay, and we want to make sure that you’re happy with your purchase.

With over 15 years of experience in the carport industry, we know exactly how to build that building of your dreams. Whether it’s a custom design or a simple garage, our highly skilled installers will work non-stop until your metal building is fully erected and ready to be used.

Many of our customers opt for a traditional storage room for their belongings. As you know, it’s not necessary to build a custom unit to keep your belongings safe. However, if you live in an area where snow or wind is an important factor to consider, then additional material will be needed to meet your local codes.

Is it necessary to have a concrete pad for my building?

No. Concrete pads are optional for metal buildings under 30’ in width. Take this 20’W x 21’L x 9’H metal garage as an example:

• Horizontal Sides & Ends

• 10’x8′ Roll-Up Door (front end)

36″x80″ Walk-In Door (on the side)

• 2 – Windows (back end, right side)

This metal storage room has a vertical roof and is built in 12-gauge, so it comes with an additional 20-year limited warranty on rust-through of the framing, assuming normal user care and maintenance.

Remember, the buildings that we post on our blogs are live examples of what we are capable of. The dimensions can always be altered to whatever you desire, and any features you want can be added, such as walk-in doors, windows, garage doors, etc. Give us a call! Let one of our sales representatives assist you, and don’t forget to ask for financing options!

Trunk or Treat 2017

On October 21st, 2017 from 4 – 6 p.m. we hosted a Trunk or Treat event at our headquarters location in Joshua, Texas and we could not have been any more pleased with the outcome. With Halloween just around the corner, we felt like this free celebration was the right thing to do for our local community. Alongside 92.1 Hank FM and the Party Patrol, we were all immersed in the holiday spirit.

The energy and enthusiasm everyone brought was an incredible sight to see. American Steel Carports, Inc. would like to deeply thank all our fellow friends who were a part of this wonderful experience. You all were amazing, lively, and clever with Halloween costumes. We truly cannot wait to have another successful event next year!

Around 4 p.m. our location was beginning to come alive with families and their creative costumes. From little plague doctors and Stormtroopers to magical butterflies and Cinderella’s, American Steel Carports, Inc. converted into a diverse enchanted ground with a common goal: trunk or treating and Party Patrol fun. As you would walk by each metal building, you’d find a vehicle’s trunk uniquely accessorized with Halloween décor and spooky designs (shout out to our wonderful ASCI team!). There, these jubilant characters filled their Halloween buckets with a variety of candy. Not to mention, our fellow attendees also received free items including t-shirts, frisbees, water bottles, keychains, and footballs on our behalf.

By 5 p.m. American Steel Carports, Inc. had a full-fledged celebration. 92.1 Hank FM played our favorite country hits and brought spectacular entertainment. Family and friends were gathered around their booth ready to win amazing prices such as state fair passes, concert tickets, and so much more – congratulations to all the winners! From hula hooping and water balloon tossing to naming country tunes and line dancing, we all had nothing short of fun. Everyone was super engaged with the Party Patrol and trunk or treating, but when we found time to settle down a bit, our food station was prepared with free hot dogs and drinks for our creative guests. I personally enjoyed walking by and seeing parents take pictures of their children by our little hay bale/pumpkin set up. In addition, we had a Fall photo booth where attendees could take free pictures by one of our staff members. Throughout the event, our enchanted guests would stop by to strike a pose (if you were one of them, please feel free to download them from our gallery!).

Again, thank you so much to everyone who joined American Steel Carports, Inc. for our annual Trunk or Treat event; we were thrilled to have you here! In case you missed it, no worries – there is always next year! Our following event is at the Texas Motor Speedway on Nov. 3-5 so be sure to catch us there or feel free to stop by our Joshua office again to say hello.

The Metal Barn for You

Agricultural buildings are an amazing addition to your property, especially when it comes to the farm life. They not only offer protection for your livestock, but can also be used to store farm equipment.

Our metal barns are divided into three sections: the center unit (main unit) and our left and right wings (lean-tos). The center unit tends to be wider and obviously taller than the lean-tos, especially when the structure is used for livestock; it usually offers a type of entrance. The lean-tos can offer extended shelter for your livestock or can be enclosed to create separate sections to store farm equipment, animal feed, etc.

Take a look at this metal barn:

• 18’W x 56’L x 12’H (main unit)

• A-Frame Horizontal

• Horizontal Ends

• Two 10’x10′ Roll-Up Doors

• Two 36″x80″ Walk-In Doors

• Six Windows

•12’W x 56’L x 10’/8’H (Lean-Tos)

• Concrete Anchors

This particular metal barn has two 10’ x 10’ roll-up doors on each end, making it more likely to be used for storage purposes. However, keep in mind that we’re here to make this building according to your needs. If you like the design but not the dimensions or even the placement of the doors, we can always alter it until we meet your expectations.

If you would like to see more designs or ideas for your metal barn, please click here—or feel free to look at our previous blogs for more pictures and information. If you give us a call and ask to speak with a sales representative, our experts will help you build the metal barn of your dreams. Remember that we can also provide you with a rough sketch to help you visualize your creation.
