Mini-Storages

Whether you need a small storage room for your belongings or simply think that mini-storages are adorable, they’re a great addition to your property. And when it comes to protection, they offer the best—just like one of our steel buildings, but in a reduced size.

If you’re interested in acquiring a mini-storage unit, there is certain important information for you to consider:

  • Mini-storage units come as a kit.
  • The base price includes the fully enclosed building with a framed finished floor made of ¾” pressure-treated wood. It also comes with a walk-in door or 6’ x 6’ roll-up door, depending on the size of the mini-storage.
  • No mini-storage unit can exceed 7’ in height.
  • The sizes on the flyer are the only sizes of mini-storage we offer. If you’re looking for something longer, wider, or taller, then it must be priced out of the regular flyers.
  • We have different options for you to customize your mini-storage, such as windows, porches with railings, gable ends, etc.
  • Mini-storage units are priced as 14-gauge, but they can always be upgraded to 12-gauge for an additional cost.
  • Plans and calculations are available at an additional charge. Generics are not available.

You Can Get Yours Too!

It’s time to get that metal building you’ve been wanting! With the lowest price in the market, American Carports is your best choice.

We specialize in garages, workshops, mini storages, carports, and custom metal buildings – and with over 20 years of experience, we know exactly how to deliver a pleasant experience when it comes to installation. Remember that delivery and installation are included in the price; also, please be aware that we do not offer concrete services and that the surface where the unit will be installed needs to be level.

Take a look at this 24’W x 31’L x 9’H metal building:

This metal building has a horizontal roof (or also called “boxed eave”), which combines style and protection for your belongings. When your building overpasses 31’ in length, it’s highly recommended that you opt for a vertical roof instead in order to avoid future leaks. Since this building is only 31’ long, however, the horizontal roof isn’t a problem. This building also comes with a 10’ x 8’ roll-up door on the side and a 36” x 80” walk-in door.

In addition to our residential style roof, you can choose between 13 colors to add your personal touch. Whether your metal building will be installed next to your house or on a different property, we always let you choose the perfect combination.

Did you know that you can upgrade to 12-gauge?

Most of our customers get our 12-gauge tubing, since it’s the strongest one we offer (a.k.a., heavy duty). Aside from being the strongest, our 12-gauge also includes a 20-year limited warranty on rust-through of the framing.

Looking for a similar design? Give us a call and speak with one of our experts! We’ll help you customize your metal building according to your needs. And don’t forget to ask about our financing options!

Prepare to not Make Mistakes

Imagine that you’re making a significant purchase. What if someone stepped in to tell you about all the things that could go wrong when making it?

Granted, American Carports will certainly help you avoid problems, but sometimes we come across customers who decide to start the process before consulting a professional.

This is when customers find themselves in a situation that becomes difficult to correct, even for the professionals at American Carports. Here are three of the most common blunders customers make, so hopefully you know how to avoid them.

  • Prepare the foundation before you get the plans.

Many times customers decide they want a building of a certain size and try to speed up the process by pouring concrete before engineered drawings have been provided. However, a steel building isn’t a typical box that just sits on top of a concrete slab. Remember, this building is going to be subjected to wind and weather loads. Engineers and detailers consider your specific geographic area when they finalize foundation and building designs. In addition, you shouldn’t pour with preliminary anchor bolt patterns. Don’t pour your concrete before you have your plans—it’s a HUGE blunder!

  • Never take a delivery of a steel building before you have the proper permits.

Remember, each steel building is engineered specifically for its job site location, so it’s not like you can easily erect it somewhere else. The way to avoid oversights is to pay for permit drawings ahead of time—a small percentage of the total cost of the building. This also locks in your steel price, so when you’re ready for fabrication, any increase in the price of steel won’t affect you. It is significantly less expensive to make changes that will pass the permitting process at the drawing stage. If you wait until you’re at the fabrication and delivery stages, you run the risk of making a mistake.

  • Work with an in-house detailing team.

The benefit of an in-house detailing team is two-fold. First, it allows you to make changes or adjustments to your plan based on your changing needs or wants, on alterations to the structural code of your area, or even on budget demands—and it allows you to make these changes in hours or days rather than weeks. Time is of the essence with building. Steel prices may change, weather can change with the seasons (allowing only certain times to build), and contractors may change their quotes based on how long it takes to complete a project. The other benefit is that when it comes time for erection, you’re going to want to be able to speak with a professional in case you have problems or questions. Who better to speak with than the person who actually engineered the building? No one knows your building as well. An in-house engineering department allows you to have direct access to the detailer or engineer.

The steel building process is relatively easy—when you do it the right way.

Let’s get Your Belongings Protected

It’s time to get your metal garage ready for the winter! Our metal garages will protect your vehicles, equipment, or any valuables you might consider storing inside.

All of our garages come in different sizes. The key to getting a good-sized metal garage is to know the dimensions you’re looking for. Many customers will freeze when we ask what dimensions they want. That won’t stop our experts from recommending certain sizes that will work for you – but keep in mind that if you need the additional space to store something besides your vehicle, it would be better for you to measure the space needed.

Take a look at this 30’W x 31’L x 12’H garage:

There’s plenty of space for your vehicles and enough to fit an average-sized truck inside. It also has a vertical roof, our most recommended roof style, horizontal siding, 2 (two) 10’ x 10’ roll-up doors, 2 (two) 30” x 30” windows, and a 36” x 80” walk-in door.

What if I like the concept of the building, but I need to change the length?

We would be more than happy to customize your metal garage according to your needs. All of the pictures we post are live examples of what we can do. If you need us to customize it, we will do it!

What if I like everything about the building except the colors?

With over 13 (thirteen) different colors to choose from, you can add your personal touch to your metal garage.

Don’t wait too long! Give us a call and let one of our experts help you customize your metal garage! And don’t forget to ask about our financing options!

Recycled Steel Delivers Strength While Developing a Strong Workforce

If you’ve owned a steel building in the past, or even if you’ve just been researching building options, you probably already know some of the benefits of steel: strength, durability, and value.

But did you know steel is the #1 most recycled material in the world? According to the Steel Recycling Institute, between 60 and 80 million tons of scrap steel are recycled every year by North American steel mills into new steel products and components. In this way, scrap steel is a crucial ingredient in producing new steel.

Our building kits at American Steel Carports are made of approximately 94% recycled steel, all of it sourced from American steel mills. Using recycled steel gives our customers all the great features of steel—lighter yet stronger than other building materials, resistant to all types of weather, flexible design, and more—with the added benefits that come from recycling. These advantages include:

Performance. Because of the inherent properties of steel, it can be repeatedly recycled from one use or product to another without compromising its structural integrity or performance.

Environmental impact. Recycling steel reduces the amount of resources consumed and emissions produced in the process of creating steel products, lowering its impact on our environment and our planet.

Economy. Not having to produce completely new steel for every new product also reduces the cost of steel products to consumers—enhancing the already great value of this high-quality building material.

American manufactured. American Steel is proud to use American steel. As U.S. steel mills use largely recycled materials, buying recycled steel is an important part of keeping money and jobs in our country and our communities.

Plenty of Space for Your Toys!

There’s still plenty of time to get your metal garage before winter gets in the way! As you know, it’s very important to keep our valuables and vehicles under a roof. If you want them to last a long time, they need to be protected from any natural elements and harsh weather conditions.

The key to our metal buildings is that we will customize and transform them according to your needs and preferences; not to mention that ALL our buildings are engineer-certified!

Although American Carports does not offer any concrete work, furthermore, we will provide concrete anchors to secure your structure—not to mention that you can get our 90-mph wind warranty when you purchase all the anchors needed. Take this 24’W x 51’L x 9’H metal garage as an example:

  • A-Frame Vertical Roof
  • Horizontal Sides & Ends
  • 2 – Walk-in Doors (diamond window)
  • 4 – 30″x30″ Windows (2 on each end)
  • 4 – 10’x8′ Roll-Up Doors (on the side)

This metal garage has a vertical roof, one of the best roof styles we offer. Besides its pleasant-looking residential style, it allows natural elements such as snow, dirt, water, and leaves to slide off very easily. Also, once a metal building exceeds 30’ in length, we recommend choosing a vertical roof to eliminate the possibility of leaks in the future. Another important fact, is having your roll-up doors on the side can give you plenty of advantages when it comes to this type of building, since it’s cheaper to grow in length than in width.

Your metal garage is just one call away! Ask to speak with one of our sales representatives who will help customize your metal building according to your needs. Also, don’t forget to ask about our financing options. Want to see our buildings in person? Ask for your local dealer!
